Photo location remover

Check a photo for hidden GPS data and save a clean copy. Your photo never leaves this device.

What this tool shows you

Phone cameras write a block of hidden data called EXIF into each photo. This tool reads it and shows the parts that matter for privacy: the GPS position, the phone model and the time the photo was taken. If there's a location, you get a link to see it on a map, which is exactly what anyone you send the original to could do.

How the clean copy works

The tool redraws your photo into a fresh image in your browser and saves that. The new file has the picture and nothing else, so the location, phone model and timestamps are gone. JPEGs are saved at high quality, so most people won't see a difference.

Everything happens on your device. There's no upload, no server and no account.

Stop it happening in the first place

Turn off location tags in your camera app's settings. Our guide on removing location from photos explains where to find it and which ways of sharing keep the location intact.
